The year 2019 marked 280 years since the birth Grigory Potemkin – one of the most significant characters in the history of the XVIII century and the most influential statesman of Catherine's reign, the favorite and secret spouse of the Empress, her friend and colleague, diplomat and general. The large-scale exhibition "'Tis is Potemkin himself!" at the State Hermitage Museum presented Potemkin, his life and deeds as never before. This documentary was created for the exhibition.
