The Hermitage Theatre is the oldest theatre in Saint Petersburg, the court theatre of Imperial Russia and the birthplace of Russian opera and ballet.  This film highlights the immense influence of 18th century Russia and of Saint Petersburg itself on the development of opera, ballet, poetry, dance and theatre internationally, bringing to life the works that were born in the Golden Age and continue to capture audiences today. The Hermitage Theatre relives its time of glory in Manas Sirkanyan’s 2017 documentary.
